As this pandemic drags on, I am becoming more and more bored. How about you? I would have never believed that staying home all the time would be this difficult. But the days blend one into another, and it's almost impossible to know what day of the week it is. Time both flies and standstill. I found that I must purposefully plan alone time with my handsome hubby. If I don't, we drift apart. I don't want that to happen, and neither do you. Here are more date ideas for when you are stuck at home to keep you grounded and connected.

Bake like no one is watching. Always a fun, messy, and hopefully tasty way to end your day. Can't get out to see a show? Live stream a free broadway play. We are waiting with bated breath for "Hamilton" to be live-streamed. But right now, we have watched "Aladdin" and "Phantom of the Opera." My boys are still quoting "Aladdin" every day.

Have an at-home ice cream bar and movie night. Go crazy with flavors and toppings. You can worry about calories tomorrow. Get creative. Get out some wine and try a DIY paint-and-pour. You and your sweetie can paint each other's portraits. I am sure that you will need to make space on your walls for your paintings, or maybe you will burn them. Either way, it should be a fun evening.

Get crafty. Similar to the tip above. Using your hands and making crafts together will give you some productive alone time, and (hopefully) something beautiful to show off at the end of social distancing.

Discuss the State of your Union. Now is the time to take the temperature of your romantic relationship. Sit down and tell each other how you are feeling. Revealing your innermost feelings to the person you love the most will help you get through these tough days together.

Hang out on your patio, and people watch. I have turned my patio into a little outdoor cafe, and when the weather is beautiful, I take my tea outside and wave to my neighbors as they pass. Even a quick interaction with people you don't see all the time will brighten your day.

Dream today, and travel later. Start a Pinterest board with travel inspiration for your next trip. Minigolf at home. Create your course from objects you find around your house. My hubby invented a hole that requires the golf ball to go up a flight of stairs, so I haven't made it more than three stairs yet, but I will get there!

Have a Nerf war. I have two sons, so we have tons of Nerf guns if you don't have any, try a marshmallow fight instead. Karaoke group date night. You can't get together with your friends right now, but you can do a Zoom group date night. Learn a new language, a new love language. Dr. Gary Chapman believes that there are five different love languages. You can take the love language test online for free. I will go more into depth on this topic next week. As the social distancing drags and drags, you need to put your relationship front and center. If you don't, you could find yourself drifting farther away from your sweetie. It is more important than ever to keep your loved ones close.
